The Greatest Evil 5

After Crom reached home, he went to his room and went to sleep.  He did not bother with announcing his homecoming, he needed his rest.  When Aparthie learned of his arrival, she immediately entered his room and was scarred at what she saw.  Aparthie requested that some servants carefully place bandages upon Crom’s bleeding chest without waking him from his slumber.  This was done quickly and to her liking.  She thanked the servants and they were pleasantly surprised at the acknowledgment of their work.  Appreciation is something they never received.
On a table next to the bed was the necklace that Crom retrieved from the dragon’s booty, and leaning on it was the two sided axe, underneath his bed Crom placed the Sword of Omens.  He planned to show it to his father later, it would be a splendid surprise.   On the floor, at the foot of the bed laid the head of the dragon.  Aparthie cried as she held her brother’s hand.
Strom, Ganesh, and Valla entered the room and Aparthie looked up happy to see she was not alone in the mourning of her injured sibling.  Strom said unto his sister, “Come, sister, let our brother rest peacefully.   I am sure that he will be well by the morning.”  Aparthie reluctantly got up and left the room with Strom.
“A dragon,” muttered Ganesh with a truly deep sorrow, “Crom has slain a beast of both ancient and evil powers.  Had I but known he was to fact a dragon. . .”
“Rest easy my Lord, the wound Crom took was not a mortal one, no matter how grievous it seems,” replied Valla most assuredly, “The beast’s claw seems to have struck Lord Crom’s rib, and nothing more.  I do fear, however, that Lord Crom’s rib may perhaps be broken.  The skin is already in a black nature.  I am sure that he will be sore when he awakens.”
Ganesh, somewhat reassured with Valla’s insight was still shaken, “A dragon”.  He than took a moment to look upon his son with great pride.  “Come, my friend, let us retire for the evening.”
And the two left the room and walked by each other down the hall when they ran into an Aparthie that was in much haste.  Startled, she said, “I. . .pardon me my Lords.  I wish to sit with Lord Crom for a while more.”
A smile was born onto Ganesh’s face as he replied,”Are you a wet nurse or a sister?  Very well child.  You are obviously loyal.  I bid you a pleasant evening.
Aparthie entered the room occupied by her injured brother and sat by him the whole evening.
